April 19-20, 2013 - Acquire the Fire

On April 19th and 20th the youth from ACOW along with 3 friends attended the Acquire the Fire youth event at the Tampa Fairgrounds. Over 7, 000 youth gathered to worship Jesus Christ, listen to phenomenal teachings and great skits. The youth were encouraged to pursue God at all cost. The youth really Acquired the Fire and are committed to fanning into flames the fire that has begun in them. The adults that accompanied them had their lives touched and challenged.

We will definitely be going again next year but for now we remember that HE who began a good work in us will be faithful to complete it. Hallelujah!!!!!!

May 19, 2012 - Holy Land Experience

Several of the teens and some of the adults visited the "Holy Land Experience", a Bible-based theme park near Orlando, Florida.

June 27, 2010 - Recognition Day for Graduates

The above shows Chris Lazzell receiving a graduation gift from the congregation.  Well done, Graduates!

May 16, August 8 and October 17, 2010, were designated as Youth Sundays.

The children and teens processed as a group and served in different ways:  Crucifer, Offering Bearers, Lectors, Greeter, Acolyte, and one of our young people ran the sound board and power point.

On May 16, they also recited the words to the Christian song, "We are one in the Spirit", responsively (girls one verse, boys the next) as the Sermon introduction.  The youth and clergy finished with the Recessional - "These are the Days of Elijah"  in which all the congregation were encouraged to clap, and bounce and sway. (which they did enthusiastically)!

August 2008 - Practicing and then performing in the church skit "This Is Your Life".

One of the favorite Teen Bible Studies was based on the little book "My Heart - Christ's Home" by Robert Boyd Munger.

The teens were asked to imagine what it would be like to have Jesus come into the home of their heart. Were they prepared to meet with Him daily in their living room? In the study? What about that dark closet that needs cleaning out? With the help of a real doll house the study took the teens through six rooms of their heart. As a fun object lesson they stopped in the dining room for a discussion of what they were feeding their heart and a snack of pizza and soda in style.

Our RATS Pack has done an outstanding job of raising funds for Food For the Poor to enable a poor family to own a goat. At the time this photo was taken they had raised funds for three goats.  In total they have raised fund for nine goats.  In addition, they have purchased mosquito netting for African children through Compassion International.  Great work Teens !!!
