ANGLICAN NEWS:
Our Anglican Roots -
Practically, Anglican Christianity is rooted in the ancient faith and
practice of the first century church and developed in the English
Reformation. Driven by a missionary focus, Anglicanism has been about
the work of making disciples for over 500 years and has expanded into a
global church.

Maintain the passion for the mission:
We are a passionately evangelistic community that believes that the whole world needs whole Word…
God invites us all to come ‘just as we are’ and be prepared to change, as He
transforms us into the image of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Bishop Murphy said it best when he said:
“I believe what we are called to do has been clear…we
are a missionary outreach of Rwanda…we are not a denomination… We’ve been
given a bias towards action in a very exciting, in-between time in the
life of the church…we will maintain, as a part of our strategy, this
passion for the mission. We won’t get deflected and distracted…we need to
open up to the Spirit to maintain the passion for the mission. You cannot
fake passion!” Bishop Chuck Murphy, AMiA 2006 Winter Conference).
Also, we recommend looking at AMiA Emmaus Network - This is the regional
collection of Anglican Churches located in Central Florida. Our
leadership attends monthly meetings and semi-annual retreats to keep up on
all developments of AMiA.
Commitment to Jesus Christ:
As a member of the AMiA, the Anglican Church of the Word believes that:
Salvation is found in Jesus Christ alone who is the
only begotten Son of the Living God. Through Him, all who come to Him by
faith and repent of their sins, receive forgiveness through Christ’s death
on the Cross and live in newness of life through the transforming power of
the Holy Spirit. This new life of faith is to be marked by a joyful
obedience to Jesus Christ, to God’s Word and to the leading of the Holy
Spirit (Matthew 16:15-16; Ephesians 2:4-10; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians
5:22-25).
