Mowing and Cleanup Day, August 20, 2011
We had a "work day" to brighten up the property. We mowed the grass, "weed whacked" (if
that is a real phrase), trimmed bushes, tree limbs, etc. A wonderful and fun-filled teamwork activity.
Ordination of Deacon Jonathan Smith, July 27, 2011
Jonathan Glenn Smith of our
church was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons (as a Transitional Deacon to
the priesthood) on Wednesday July 27, 2011, by Bishop John Miller. Visiting
clergy included members of the Anglican Mission, other Anglican denominations
and the Presbyterian Church of America. There were also many friends and family
of the Ordinand, Jonathan.
Jonathan will be ordained a priest in about 6
months. Jonathan was formally presented to the Bishop by Fr. Don Curran (our
Network Leader) and by our Senior and Junior Wardens, John Marinello and Karl
Daly. Jonathan received his Deacon's stole from his wife Ivey Rose who also
placed the stole on his shoulder for the first time. As remembrances of his
Ordination, Deacon Jonathan received a Bible from the Bishop; a set of Stoles
from the Vestry; and a Christian watch from the Youth of the Parish.
In addition, and in a surprise spiritual moment, Bishop Miller washed the
Ordinand's feet (not a normal part of an Ordination)
A reception followed in the Parish Hall. It was a truly glorious evening.
AMIA Winter Conference, February, 2011
There are 2 parts to this section of the Photo Gallery. The first contains some
photos taken by Audrey (for which we thank her) and the second are pieces of
music recorded at the conference (thank you, Margaret.)
